Trapped moisture causing rot in roof timbers
Why it happens here
Berry Brow's stone cottages were built to breathe, with no vapour barrier and open ventilation at the eaves. Foam sprayed between rafters seals that path, so moisture from inside the house condenses against cold timber and rot sets in within a few winters.
Our approach
We remove all foam back to bare timber, check moisture content with a thermal imaging camera, and clear the ventilation path before anything goes back. Where rot has started we flag it early so you can get a joiner in before the roof is closed up again.
